when the lights go down in the cit-ay

Major points if you get the musical reference for this post title!

Last month for fall break we took a semi last minute trip to San Francisco, because we are childless and we can. I had never been (that I was old enough to remember at least) and it was a lot of fun to take on the role of tourist for a long weekend (which we played to a T)! It was also the maiden voyage of our fancy-for-us camera, so I got a little snap happy. Even though I still have no idea how to use that bad boy off of auto, so you'll have to excuse my lack of photography skills. I will obviously never be a photographer :)

Lets go on a little picture journey, shall we?

Pit stop in the Sierras

Home to a whole lot of big trees that are super duper cool for about 20 min.

OBSESSED with all the architecture! Too bad they are obscenely expensive.

On our super bad bus tour. At least the tour guide thought his own jokes were funny.

At the aquarium. Not the coolest aquarium ever, but when you have free passes...

 Hi Oakland Temple!

Alcatraz. Audio tour=the best.

We made some friends.

Bye, The Rock.

Just modeling on the beach. NBD.

Thanks mom for teaching me that no trip anywhere is complete without trying the local cupcake places. They taste better on the beach too, in case you were wondering.

This little guy wanted some cupcake action!

Some ladies that are painted. I'll take the yellow one in the middle, thanks.

Okay, if you find yourself in SF, and you are fortunate enough to have a lovely sunny day, DO take advantage of the bike tours. Easily my favorite thing of the whole trip. You take a bike from the city, across the bridge, and then hang out in Sausalito for a little bit while you wait for a ferry ride back. So fun.

Congrats if you made it to the end of this beast of a post!
